Published: Fri, 11/05/21
It's the weekend starting tonight, do you have any fun plans? I told Scarlett we are staying home for a week or two. I know the end of November and all of December will be busy, so I need a quick break from being out and about. I actually took a few days off after the last launch.
Just getting that much content done can fry your brain a little so you need a reset.
FYI: Tomorrow's email will go out at 9 AM EST if you want to be on the lookout for it...

Are You Busy or Just Trying to Look Like It?
I was people watching on Facebook to look at behavior patterns of marketers and one thing I've found is some of the busiest seeming people never accomplish much at all.The ones who seem to binge watch Netflix all day (ahem, I'm looking at you, Arun Chandran), are the real go getters who have proven results.
I myself have to laugh when my kids walk in and I'm sitting here watching my reality TV shows. I'm sure they're wondering how Mom earns money when all it seems I do is relax.
But what they don't realize is that I work in little bite-sized batches. I hit it hardcore for an hour then break. I have no set time. I might work hard for 15 minutes then break. I just work when my energy tells me to, and break when it tells me to chill.
The funny thing is, the people who I see never really getting solid traction are the ones forming a dozen Facebook groups to run, the ones who always name their projects/groups something about success or profits, the ones constantly starting new projects to pump up their followers so they don't notice they've abandoned their last project/bonus/whatever.
They might occasionally make some money, but it's not a consistent income stream. They're constantly scrambling for some new shiny object - some new strategy (like NFTs), technology (QR codes), or whatever else they can grasp onto.
There's no harm in trying a few different things to find what works best for you. But if you do this, tone down your public enthusiasm about it until you know you're going to have it as part of your business long-term. Otherwise, you look scattered and behind the scenes, people haven't forgotten about the trail of abandoned groups and projects and bonuses. They talk about it - just not to your face.
You want to build a reputation as a consistent leader. The alternative is exhausting.
That's it for me today - y'all have a great rest of your day!
Tiff ;)
