Merry Christmas from My Family to Yours...

Merry Christmas!

I know not everyone celebrates it, so whatever you do celebrate, I hope you enjoy it with your loved ones.

We had a fantastic time last night. Lots of fun and laughter. I had SO much fun watching my son, Dylan open his "Santa" (aka: big) gift. He did NOT want a virtual reality gaming system, and for some reason, he was convinced I'd gotten him one.

I hadn't. What I HAD gotten him, was a pair of those Normatec compression pants for athletes/recovery. But what I did was put it in a new gym bag with a bow on it. And inside the bag, on TOP of the Normatec pants, I put a cheapo pair of Virtual Reality gaming goggles, so that when he opened the bag, he'd think that's what he was getting. You could see the cringe/trying to pretend he liked it on his face and I burst out laughing.

He lives in an apartment and didn't want that yet - not until they move into a house.

Although it's fun getting to see the kids open their presents, I always like to spend some time focusing on the real reason we celebrate. It's what makes it special. I usually save that for after everyone has left and the kids are in their rooms and I have a few moments to myself to be grateful for our blessings in life.

I always have to laugh at how my Scarlett saw it through her eyes as a young child. When she saw a sign that said, "Jesus is the reason for the season," she said, "Mommy? Mary gave birth to baby Jesus. Why don't people give Mary a whirl for a change?"

Ha ha! She wanted her to have signs and celebrations and I just melted at how sweet she is.

That's it for me today - y'all have a great rest of your day!

P.S. FYI: Tomorrow's email goes out at 9 AM EST.
