Good Point About Search - and How You Can Capitalize on It

You know what's funny about being a marketer? You see everything through that lens at times. I was thinking about how disappointed I was in the new Panic at the Disco album (but bought concert tickets anyway). The whole promo was rushed - it was barely any time between announcing an album and tour tickets being on sale. I probably would have flown all over the place to see many shows if I'd had planning time.
Besides that they put out 3-4 awful videos of the new album. I realize now the videos made me hate the music. When I saw him perform them live, I loved the music. Besides that, everyone who forked over good money for front row (like we did - got front and second row for our two) got the short end of the deal because some bright idea'd person decided to not only have a stage 15 feet high (so unless he's right in front at the edge, you're not seeing him), but they also put a pit in the middle so he's even farther back because of that.
I was thinking the whole time, "He should hire someone who understands a proper promo launch." LOL! Build up the excitement - drip clips of the songs, test the videos first before putting duds out there, make the experience enjoyable for people and even more so for people who pay more.
Even the VIP lounge was lame. Last time it was a whole vibe - a red and black cozy lounge w/music, food, all his memorabilia. This time it was a a tented area w/one table, some memorabilia and some cocktail weenies. LOL! I was like, "What!?" I swear my mind will be in marketer mode even at a kid's birthday party. I just analyze everything. Ha ha. We're going again tonight and have VIP again but this time it's the highest with a stage tour. I plan on voicing my $0.02 if we have a tour guide. :)

Good Point About Search - and How You Can Capitalize on It
I sent a message out the other based on this post I had seen in the Warrior Forum. I had talked about how people (me included) are now using social media for searches instead of search engines. I can see the emails now asking if SEO is dead. And maybe it will be someday - but not yet. Right now, it might be evolving into a hybrid approach that you need to know and apply to your business to start being competitive with these top "Google" ranked sites.Okay so personally, if I need to know something, I might search Google, but I always also or instead, search TikTok. Not YouTube, because there are too many bloated videos there that are too long or have all the stupid intros and stuff with it.
I use TikTok because the videos are quick and to the point and people post what they are going through or have been through and professionals give short, concise tips and information. I need speed with my searches. And it's like that joke about when you search for a recipe and if you use Google, they'll present a cooking blog where the blogger gives their whole life story before the recipe. But on TikTok, you're seeing that item being made w/a recipe in 60 seconds.
BOOM!
So anyway, a friend of mine and I were discussing my email the other day and she said, "The problem with using social media as a search engine is that very often you get sound bites and often social media has a bias or hides unpopular information, so the info you can get is often one-sided."
TRUE! But...I know for a fact that Google, Bing and yes, even Duck Duck Go have been problematic in censoring information. They decide what gets highlighted and what gets buried or banned. I feel the same about mainstream media - ALL sides have their bias and agenda and I am disgusted with them all.
This goes for all topics - and once you start seeing how industries have influenced government studies for our health, how other countries don't have a pharmaceutical commercial every 5 seconds like America does, you get annoyed.
My friend and I agreed that you HAVE to just exhaust your research on your own or else you may never know the truth. That means when someone wants to know something, they have to bounce from place to place finding answers and contradicting information and make the best informed decision they possibly can.
How can this help you?
My suggestion is this - still go after SEO, but save the bloat for - well, nowhere - nobody needs bloat. Get to the point in your blog and create those pillar blog posts everyone's raving about. Be so comprehensive and exhausting with your info that they don't feel as if they need to go elsewhere. If you have info you disagree with, instead of ignoring it just to highlight your point of view, include it - along with info about WHY you don't agree with it. Embed resources to help them make up their mind.
That's your blog strategy. You ALSO need to be putting good info out on top social sites - I recommend TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest as the top 3 for a broad variety of niches. Again, show your value right off the bat. Don't post just to post. Use those keywords and look for how people successfully use the site and become experts. Listen to the target audience. If they troll you about how you do things (like someone using a 10-part TikTok series instead of one, 3 minute comprehensive video), listen! Or at least test.
Tiff :)
