Get More Mileage from Your Written PLR; Don't Be a Knockoff

Published: Sun, 09/18/22

I don't know why my brain does this but if I have a physical injury like my knee, I'll dream that I am getting hurt (like my leg run over). Well the other day it was "pull day" at the gym and my back muscles were feeling it afterwards that night. So I dreamt that a bear was eating my back! ACK!

I know why this happened. I saw some story about a couple who photographed bears getting attacked so my brain just said, "Back pain? Oh here, let me scare the bejesus out of you by pairing it with a story you read." LOL! I woke up still unnerved because what an awful way to go!

FYI: Tomorrow's email goes out at 9 AM EST and if you need to see what limited PLR is left and see what big, discounted store bundles are available, go here.

Get More Mileage from Your Written PLR

I haven't been through it, but Jenn and Lori from Use PLR have a course called Get More Mileage from Your Written PLR where they show you how to take ideas from your written PLR and turn them into checklists, infographics, and trackers.  Jenn shows you via video how to expand and sort your PLR, then turn it into something visually stunning using Canva and Google Slides.

Lori teaches you 3 ways to create add-on content  using a small part of a report and turning it into a visually appealing piece. She also shows you how to create a tracker from a blog post and how to reuse it as an opt-in in other posts.

So if you have trouble maximizing your use of the PLR you're buying, this might be beneficial.

Don't Be a Knockoff

I read something that made me laugh the other day - it's a marketing concept I seem to grasp but Zuckerberg doesn't. (And yes, I know he has a gazillion dollars, but still...). So he owns Instagram, as you may know - not just Facebook. He owns almost 100 companies, but those are two of them.

Facebook has begun to decline over the years with newer generations - they see it as a boomer site, not anything they want to use.

Well it looks like FB, Instagram, YT and others are trying hard to keep up with TikTok.

Example: They created "Reels" for Instagram as a way to compete with TikTok's short videos.

Well users can't STAND it when brands morph into something they're trying to copycat. IG users spend 17 million hours on Reels but 197 million hours on TikTok. That's an enormous difference!

The backlash has begun - creators are showing how few views the same videos get on IG versus TikTok. Kylie Jenner, who is a celebrity that many young adults follow, posted an IG post that said: "Make Instagram Instagram Again. Stop trying to be TikTok - I just want to see cute photos of my friends. Sincerely, Everyone."

What this social giant doesn't understand is that you want to be known for that one thing, not be chasing everyone else - it looks, desperate. Like a clingy person.

When I think about the various social networks, here's how I see them: It makes no sense for other platforms to suddenly try to take the place of someone doing something wonderfully. ESPECIALLY when top social networks are so few in number. What TikTok did was look at the popularity of YouTube and probably said, "How can we do user-generated video, differently?"

What IG seems to say is, "Oh look! They're succeeding with short form video. Let's copy them."

BIG difference.

I'm showing you this big example, but it happens on a smaller scale, too. I've had top names message me a lot lately asking exactly what I'm doing to sell so many limited PLR packages. They don't ask or brainstorm how they can set themselves apart - they just want to be a knockoff. One guy's sales copy follows almost my exact formula and wording too. LOL. Just a lame rewrite.

When I was ghostwriting, top marketers would send me the Rich Jerk book and say, "Write a knockoff please." I made sure to write something unique, from scratch - not a knockoff. I thought it was weird. Recently some people who have subpar reputations are asking if I'll partner up or work with them in some way. No, you ruined your reputation - I'm not going to bail you out.

Many of you are newbies. Don't think of who you can copy. Think of who or what is succeeding and how you can do it differently or better - THAT is where you will shine!

Tiff :)
