I spent yesterday making meals my kids have wanted for awhile, so today it's gym time! Then I'm taking Scarlett to Spirit Halloween store so she can find a costume. She and her friends have lots of activities - a pumpkin carving pool party, a costume party, and all that stuff kids like to do this time of year.

I told my two younger ones that after October, nobody can go do anything to make sure none of us gets sick before our Vegas trip. LOL! Too much socializing might ruin it. We don't have to worry about me (except going to the gym), but they're around school kids and my son's fraternity brothers, so it's a solo social life for a couple of weeks. 

I'm getting more excited about going to the Vegas conference. Nervous, though. I am such a hermit so this puts me out of my comfort zone.

Things to Focus On and Not Bother Much With

I have to laugh sometimes when I see stuff about the importance of developing your mission statement, your USP and all that stuff. 

Listen, there's certainly no harm in it. But don't burden yourself wracking your brain trying to figure out some motto for a business or USP that will set you apart. 

Knowing what you want to do is one thing. Being creative with a tagline is not something you need to spend days on end working on.

All you need to know is what you can do for your audience, how you can do it better than others - and then DO it.

I feel like some people spend an awful lot of time on stuff no one really cares about. A catchy phrase isn't as important as what your product can actually do for people. 

I see soooo many people avoiding the real work and nervousness of putting something out there by focusing on all this "branding" stuff. If you do good work and serve an audience, the branding will come to life without you even lifting a finger to force it.
