Good morning! My son has my car for a few days so I'm stuck at home, which is a weird feeling even though there's nowhere I want or need to go. LOL! He's still shopping for his own car, taking his time, which I don't mind. He has some friends graduating from college so they have lots of events and stuff.

I'm all set for my surgery next week. Just paid the doctor bill ahead of time (those darned deductibles) and I go in Friday for my pre-op stuff. I had NO idea that anesthesia sometimes means you're not breathing on your own until my sister told me that - ack! I hope I don't have that kind of surgery. Hoping it's just basic sedation. I remember coming out of my last sedation laughing like crazy. I have NO idea why but I was hysterically laughing and sending videos to my kids talking to them. 

Heads Up: At the bottom of this email is my first answer to some of the struggles people have been emailing me. Going to address one thing at a time, and many people had duplicate struggles. The first answer is about what to do when you're losing subscribers or unable to grow your list because your circle's too small. See it below...

Losing Subscribers Because Your Circle's Too Small

This is something a few people emailed me about. It's a fear that sets in when you realize your list is in decline and you're only talking to the same people - no growth in sight. 

This is especially noticeable in the same industry, like online marketing, when you're in a small pond so to speak. 

I've had this happen but in my 23 years online (well, about 17 with a list, my numbers have steadied out around 9-10,000. People come and go and I periodically see a new influx of an auidence.

So let's talk about expanding your audience for what you do right now - not going into the expansion of business models yet. You need to put an end to the list leak and start growing your numbers first.

Here's what I recommend:

#1 - Survey existing subscribers so they can respond anonymously. Ask what they like about being on your list and what they don't, and ask for honesty so you can do better. (Have thick skin for this)! You want to see if people can help you identify why subscribers are leaving. #2 - Brainstorm ALL of the people who could be your audience. You can use your own common sense, keyword tools, or even AI to get help identifying your demographics. And don't be broad and vague like "people who want to make money online." 

Be VERY specific, like seniors needing to supplement their income, Mommy bloggers who want to contribute to the household earnings, etc. The reason you do this is so you can start blogging (SEO-wise) for these people and networking with them on social media, too. 

#3 - Create specific lead magnets and landing pages for each of these groups. You want the lead magnet to be about their specific needs, so again - keyword tools, spy in forums or on social media, or use AI to figure out their most pressing pain points. Promote each landing page to those demographics. 

#4 - Get strategic with your blog publishing schedule and social media posts to generate traffic. Create top value content that's in-depth and shareable. Target those specific people with your content, too. Not just generic business model topics. 

#5 - Plan one collaboration at a time. Come up with something amazing (even if it means you create a product and ONLY let one marketer promote it to his/her list for 100% commission) - but target those people wisely - pick people who have an audience NOT in your same small pond. 

Overdeliver and give them an incredible pitch. This may feel like you're losing initially, but imagine if a big marketer emailed his or her list and got tons of new subscribers you could market to for months and years to come!

#6 - Think outside the box. For example, in the PLR industry, we typically target solo entrepreneurs - marketers we all know and probably originally met in the Warrior Forum. But there are ALL kinds of professionals who need content. 

Doctors often have health newsletters. Nutritionists, personal trainers, etc. MANY people these people can't write and would love to have PLR (but they may not even know it exists). Create a pitch for these people, research them and contact them with a free sample they can use. That's an exmaple for PLR, but you can think outside the box for your business model, too. 

#7 - Host a giveaway event. Many people have participated in these, but it's worth doing! Customers love the freebies and you get to bulk up your list. And if you're the host/ess, you get to bring people onboard who AREN'T in your same circles. Go above and beyond and make it a professional event and work hard to secure top influencers and vendors. 

There are, of course, all kinds of things you can add to this - non-fiction books on Kindle about your topic, podcasts etc. But don't spread yourself too thin! Make a long-term schedule for these things and work on them in a logical order of importance and in bite-sized bits.

Organizing your schedule for routine things like list building, product creation, networking, SEO, and more is something you need to be doing. Don't just work haphazardly on random stuff whenever you need money.
