New Limited PLR - A Newbie's Guide to Residual and Passive Profits; Moments of Uncertainty as a Marketer

Published: Sat, 06/24/23

I slept like an absolute rock last night. I'm getting my sleep schedule back on track (which I hate because I'm a night owl) but Disney is just a few days away and I want to make the most of all the park hours. I can't wait! My brain periodically needs a rest to be at optimal performance and I just can't let it relax at home because I'm a workaholic.

I also LOVE the Disney bubble. It's like you're strolling through some other place where there's wonderful scents like pastries and beautiful low music in the background that's just happy. The characters and cast members (workers) are just the nicest people in the world. I read yesterday that one woman said her little boy walked up to one of the stormtroopers in Star Wars land and asked if he'd seen his dad in Heaven (space you know, he was thinking same thing) and the storm trooper replied: "Affirmative."

Melt my heart! Seeing little kids have such magic in their eyes and face when they meet a princess or favorite character or see the castle is just a reminder that not everything in this world is as bleak as the news and social media portrays it.

Moments of Uncertainty as a Marketer

I chit chat with many of you in this business and I often hear about people who are suddenly stuck or panicked because either their income stalled or they feel this sense that they're heading in the wrong direction.

This happens to just about everyone. I used to have it whenever I'd have one bad day of sales, or if something new came along and EVERYONE else jumped on it. I didn't jump (I wanted to), but instead I stayed the path and grew my business into something formidable.

But this situation is kind of like being on a hike and all of a sudden this thick fog envelops you. You can't see what's ahead. You don't know which way to go. you start feeling panicky. It's disorienting, isn't it?

But what you can know is that fog is normal. The uncertainty isn't going to kill you. It's uncomfortable, but it'll pass. You want to wait for things to clear up, and to help it clear out, you can first stop and calm down.

Take a step backwards and look at what you've done so far. Remember your why in this situation - whatever reason you're doing all of this. It could be that you just need to forge ahead, but it could be that the fog serves a purpose in protecting you from moving forward with what was a bad plan.

Maybe you needed to be stuck temporarily so you'd be forced to figure out what's better for you, and that might be another path. Spend a day or two just sitting with the options and not trying to make a decision. Instead, read or watch some motivational or inspiring stuff (for YOU, not motivational stuff for everyone else). For example, for ME, I like a good butt kick. I don't like kumbaya stuff.

Then take pen to paper and write everything down that you know to be true, what you suspect and what you want to know about the directions you can take. Do some research. If you feel like something might be better, don't just abandon what you've been doing and pursue it - stop and research and make sure it's what you think it is. Reach out to experts and people on that path already and pick their brain.

Maybe dip a toe in that direction to test the waters, while still maintaining the path you were on. Take some time to think outside the box. Don't just copycat what's on the new path, ask yourself how you could do it different or better.

These moments of uncertainty are going to gaslight you into thinking you've failed. You haven't. You're to be admired for being a go getter and trying to grow a business. It's opportunity knocking on your door. That opportunity might be change, but it also might be something meant to just fortify your current path.

Embrace it!

Tiff ;)
