My Big Marketing Regret and Your Path to Profits with PLR & Courses

Published: Wed, 09/27/23

I went to get in bed last night and forgot my suitcase was on my bed because I'd been unpacking. When we entered the room, and I started zipping it up my youngest puppy started crying and being so anxious. I had to calm her down and put the suitcase away. She really does not like it when I travel, even though she's really attached to my son and he watched the dogs. I know they had a bad thunderstorm while I was away and she usually sits on my lap during that, so maybe that's it - the emotional cost of recharging my batteries.

I just realized my desk looks like a mini medicine cabinet now. I have tons of supplements I started taking - probiotics, garlic, D3, Berberine (just started back on that today), Cranberry, and D-Mannose. I have some K2 on the way, too. I've had enough antibiotics and doctor's visits to last me a lifetime. Even for something minor, it gets draining. I'm all about natural everything now. LOL!

Below, I write about the 1 marketing regret I have. I wonder if it's something you do that I've sorely neglected. Let me know... In the meantime, there are some offers below (PLR and courses) to help you with your business growth!

1 Marketing Regret I Have

The one thing that sucks when you're starting out is that you have no idea of what order to do things or learn things. You don't really know what's important and what's not because it's all handed you according to someone else's journey.

So you kind of piecemeal it - put something together that works with what you think you can handle or understand. The result is kind of like a piece of abstract art. Messy, but it works...kind of. I used to get so excited when I'd find that one golden nugget of information that would elevate my business.

When I was first getting started as a freelance ghostwriter, it was simple enough. Sign up on Elance (now Upwork), create a profile and portfolio and outbid and outperform everyone. But then when I decided to compete with my clients as a fellow marketer, I was thrust into some crazy alien world where you had no true guidance and instructions and you had to fend for yourself.

You're surrounded by good guys and bad guys, honest and unethical. There are a million and one options served up to you. Good luck with that!

I did my best and my business has continued to grow, but I have regrets, too. One of the biggest ones was not learning more about data analytics in ALL regards from day 1. Instead of taking time to understand the analytics (which is something my brain used to freeze upon seeing), I just shrugged and hoped everything worked.

You get information delivered to you on a silver platter for your website, social media accounts, paid ads and email marketing tools. Oh sure, I signed up for Google Analytics. But I never really logged in and looked at anything. I had no clue how to use the information anyway.

Do you know why it sucks to not use analytics? Because when you work hard at something and it flops, it's so disappointing. You feel like nobody liked what you did, you instantly start worrying that you're going to fail, etc. But with analytics, you can literally see patterns and data on what your people enjoy and do more of that!

Now, I'm so busy with my day to say business tasks that I know how do some things, but have less time to integrate it into my task list - plus, I got rid of the sites it would have made the most difference in.

If I can encourage you to do one thing early on, it's to start looking at things - even on a small scale. I'm trying to do this slowly. I'm studying emails to begin with - what works, what doesn't. So you might see me testing some things out. I might split test things, too - where part of y'all get one email and part get another so I can see which version performed best. We'll see. It's all neat to get results like that but it's also time consuming.

The key is to not avoid it like I did, but embrace it and leverage it.

Are you someone who digs into your various analytics? If so, I'd love to hear your experience with what you pay attention to and how it's helped you.

Tiff :)
