Well the French drain worked so far! I was glued to my outdoor camera watching the rain pour down and it didn't get anywhere near the house. Yay! He still has to finish up more tomorrow (just adding more river rocks). So blessed to have a strong son who can do what I can't. 

The little neighbor kids came and asked if they could pick my mulberries and we said yes. My dad has a HUGE line of blackberry bushes from HIS mom's garden that he planted all the way down our front property line and all the neighbors would get them at his encouragement because it was so abundant. Then my stupid ex mowed them all down without asking me. Some people are ignorant of the value of having food producing items on your property and that was sentimental to me.
