Oof. Okay so here's what's happened... That berberine/chromium picolinate combo has rapidly worked to the point of me having to stop both. I might re-start one of them periodicially. But I went from it barely taking the edge off my hunger to eliminating all sugar cravings to having to force-feed myself, feeling weak, etc. They both lower your blood
sugar and end cravings/hunger.
Sounds great until you start struggling. At first it was perfect, then made me have no desire for ANY food. Not good. Last night because I had only had 800 calories all day (forced), I made myself eat a second meal - eggs and grits with sourdough toast and I even ate a caramel apple. I wanted my blood sugar back up a bit because I was feeling off.
So I got myself up to 2,021 calories yesterday just to kind of get my intake up a bit from it being way too low lately. After talking to my son about it and researching, I decided to focus fully on just my organic foods without weighing in every morning (because I tend to get irritated every time there's a slight bump, even if it goes back down). I'll weigh in weekly.
I found out the berberine has a half life
of several hours, which means it leaves your system quickly, but the chromium picolinate has a half life of several days. So that's not good. It's going to take me about 6 days to get this out of my system. Hopefully by forcing myself to eat to keep my blood sugar up, it can combat it until it's over. Then who knows how I'll feel towards food? Why does it all have to be so difficult. I thought I'd found the holy grail of hunger and craving management. I was so happy, and
I'm sure I can find a happy medium with it somehow. I'll work on it.
I also decided to just graze throughout the day a bit for now rather than me trying to "get my calories all in within one meal." That's just not working for me. So my FOODS and my mission haven't changed. Just trying to find my footing with when to eat and how much to make myself eat. As I said, my BMR is 1900+ and I was averaging 1100, sometimes dipping
below.
Today I started out just putting a dollop of Greek yogurt in a bowl with a drizzle of maple syrup and walnuts. I am even weak where I didn't feel like washing and cutting berries. (I had taken the supplements yesterday so it might take awhile for my energy to return). This hit me fast - just snowballed into this in days.
My son warmed up some Texas honey
and made me take a big spoonful of it. I still feel very weak. It's annoying. My kids are so protective over me, they're like parents when I'm not feeling well. ❤️
For lunch I made 2 eggs with a piece of toast and a pickle spear for electrolytes. Dinner was a grilled cheese with an egg and some Amy's vegetable barley soup. After lunch, I was fine for awhile then my blood sugar must've plummeted. After I eat I feel fine for awhile. Now
I just want this out of my system so if I ever use it again, it'll be sparingly.

Story
My son is going to some weddings soon and one of his friends comes from a very wealthy family. The bride comes from a small town where people are struggling. So they decided to do two wedding registeries - one for the big city, wealthier crowd and one for the small town people using local stores that would help those small business owners, too. Very sweet!
Well
unfortunately, the groom's mom didn't know about this and she happened to stumble upon the town registery and bought every single item on it thinking she was doing something nice for them. 😂
It was a kind gesture, but they had to them go back and make a second one. The gifts on that one were for a much lower price point to help everyone out. LOL! I thought the whole thing was sweet all around - what
they did for small businesses and local friends, and the mom's intentions. ❤️
