Hi
Yesterday I told y'all that I was excited to get my
first short story in a series finished. I published it and it's now live (in Kindle Unlimited FREE or $0.99 to buy)! It's in the Women's Fiction genre under my pen name Trinity Ford. The series is called The Wednesday Sunset Club. I wanted to create a series of 45-minute reads - long enough for a complete (yet ongoing) story right before bed, while on a lunch break, etc.
The first story is called
A Table for Six. I'm aiming for themes of friendship and sisterhood with resilience for life's challenges. Each story will feature someone's issues and how the group supports her, but as time goes on, it'll uncover a lot more about each character as we learn more about their background and personality. It was fun to write. Below
today's PLR, there's a marketing note about my journey in this.
From an online marketing perspective, this is another business branch that I need and want to pursue. I have met so many people making extremely good money and now more coming forward who focus on short stories (I never knew they could be so profitable). And it's way less time consuming and tedious to do a short than a full novel. So that's what today's
Limited to 48 Hours PLR is going to teach you - my process for how I did it. And I even show you how to use some AI in the process within Amazon's boundaries IF you need to.

Marketing Note About My Fiction Journey
I ran a report and saw that on Amazon, I'd earned $27,582 on my time there. The problem? That could have been daily. Hourly, even. But my problem was letting self doubt, poor time management and stupidity get in my way. Plus, my PLR business (and ghostwriting before that) has always been more lucrative. It's hard to start out on a new income stream that pulls time away from what's earning.
When I look at my ratings and reviews, they're good. Even on Goodreads, which is notoriously cranky, I have over 4 star ratings consistently (except for one where it was listed as a book but was a short story). But not many real complaints about my writing. I like other styles of writing so what I write isn't what I prefer to read but others enjoy it. Even when you see a low star rating, most often if you look at their track record, they always give one star ratings. Miserable
people.
The one thing I've been learning is to do things that limit the money and time I spend doing it, while aiming for the best of my abilities. That means no more hiring cover designers that fell flat after I spent $500-1k. My son did my cover above and it's perfectly fine for this genre. I think it's beautiful and I see so many bestsellers with shoddy covers. I was let down by the designers I paid for on my last ones. If I
didn't have him, I'd buy premade.
Editing? I spent a small fortune before hiring editors but only because I didn't trust myself. The last editor said my writing was perfect for the women's fiction genre and she foresees success for me. IF ONLY I'LL DO IT!
No more costly editors, though. AI can edit very specifically for what I want and need like spelling, typos,
etc. This makes the process super fast for me.
I have to tell you a funny story, too. Y'all know I had an awful, abusive marriage. Well in the story I wrote, there's a sentence where one lady describes her ex as an old couch with broken springs she couldn't find a way to get rid of. LOL! I often felt like that because he just sat in the den playing video games - useless as a dad or husband. But anyway, my son heard that one
sentence because I was having my Word document read it out loud and he said, "Jeez mom, is this an autobiography? It described him to a T." Wasn't intentional. But funny that he said that.
It took 2 days to do my short story. One day (and by day I mean about 4 hours, twice), I came up with the idea for the series, the outline, and the cover idea. My son began doing the cover (we consulted 2 days and he did just what I asked for -
I used Deposit Photos stock images and he used Photoshop).
On day two, I wrote, edited and uploaded it. I use Vellum but there are other ways to format it. I talk about that in the PLR today. Vellum is literally click and done. I need all the help I can get on tech stuff.
I feel SUPER motivated about this. I can write stories easy and fast. Dictation is
amazzzzzing. Don't stand in your own way. I don't have any dream of this becoming my multi million dollar income, but it's consistency to build a list and loyal readership to be ready when my full length books go live.
I envision it ending up a friendship like the women had in Steel Magnolias. You have younger ones and older, grouchy ones, funny ones, mom like ones, etc. I want some funny, light-hearted moments in there. And
there will be. I had to start somewhere so this one isn't as funny. But that's like life, right? There are ups and downs, light-hearted moments and serious ones. I I look forward to getting to know the characters just like a reader would.
I may even work with AI to create images for me of them so I can have them cemented in my mind.
Tiff
;)
