Hi
I hope wherever you are, however you celebrate this time of year, that you're cozy, well fed and just feeling loved.
That's how I always feel around Christmas. When my kids all want to come spend time with me for dinner and gifts and games - nothing can beat that.
I still remember a funny story about my daughter this time of
year. We had a nativity scene out for decor and she was about 4-5 and she said, "Mom? We don’t hear a lot about Mary - she was the mother of baby Jesus! Why don’t we give Mary a whirl for a change?”
So precious!
It stuck with me because there was something so honest in it. She wasn’t questioning faith or tradition. She was noticing people and who gets acknowledged and
who gets quietly overlooked. Even at that age, she had this instinct to slow down and look a little closer - always had empathy for others.
I think that’s what this season does when we allow ourselves to stop for a moment. It pulls us out of the chaos and noise around us and online for a bit and reminds us to notice the people who matter most - who change our lives in lots of little ways.
Not the perfect versions we see online, but the real ones who might be tired or sick or frustrated and they are there for others anyway. That might be you. Just know you're appreciated and enough and worthy.
Even if you're in a complicated holiday right now, as I know so many are. There are financial strains, relationship issues, health considerations and more. Wherever you are in the world, and in your life,
I hope you take today to slow down and appreciate yourself and others.
Merry Christmas my friends!
Tiff :)
