Where's All the Inspiring Stuff?
Published: Sat, 01/07/17
Having a great weekend so far. Kids home safe. I slept in. Snow's almost all melted but oh well. Today I'm not supposed to be working. But since I was sick all last week, I have to make up for it.
I woke up this morning feeling uninspired with most of what I'm seeing online. Ever feel that way? It's an awful way to feel in the New Year, too - when you're SUPPOSED to feel like everything is amazing and fresh and wonderful.
Even most of the PLR I'm seeing is the same topic - broad and already done a gazillion times.
I haven't seen any IM products that made me want to whip out my credit card and learn something.
And I WANT to. I just haven't seen it. It feels like everyone's rushing to get something out rather than stopping and thinking of something a little more unique.
And by the way, I'm not slamming everyone's hard work. I probably haven't even seen half of them to consider. I'm just saying the stuff I HAVE seen hasn't curled my toes, you know? At the end of 2016 I saw several things I loved.
How about you - has anything you saw or bought wowed you this first week? Let me know if I've missed something spectacular.
PLR-wise, the only thing I downloaded and thought was good and valuable today (mainly because I don't cover this topic myself) was the Mobile Marketing new launch here:

And the main reason I was interested in this was some sort of stats I saw about Christmas consumers using mobile for some incredible percentage of their purchases. Even people in stores, do shopping comparisons and end up ordering online instead of in store.
So this was a timely, unique and well-written product.
I'm in learning mode, too - so it stinks when there isn't a lot of stuff to gobble up.
As for my own upcoming PLR launches, what I did was try to think of combined or slightly different topics.
I knew many people had requested appliance PLR and health PLR, so I combined them. Healthy appliances - so I decided my front end will be articles about how each type of small appliance can be used for healthy meals (like pressure cookers, juicers, mixers, etc.) and the upsell will be actual product reviews with a top 3 reviewed slant.
With my RC and drone launch, also requested, I knew many of my subscribers pursue the lucrative toy niche - but instead of stale old "top toys," I wanted to do a specific type of toy - one that generally has a higher pricetag for commissions.
With my "fitness" pack I'm working on, I wanted something trendy and different from "whole 30" or "101 diet tips" so I put the social networking slant on it - because if there's one thing we know dieters do when they get on a diet, it's brag on Facebook - every meal, every time they hit the gym, etc.
And with my IM PLR product, lots of people requested blogging, and I know I automatically have a different perspective on blogging, so I'm going to create that to make it stand out from the rest.
With my products, even with my challenges, I try to give something unique to my subscribers. The little insights that I have on what works. It seems to work - feedback is great.
For those of you creating products, PLR - whatever - please think about WOWing today. What can you do that others aren't - or in a unique way?
I'm going to keep that in mind as I sit down to work today.
Monday we start the actual writing portion of our Writing Productivity Challenge - hope you're in on it so you can create along with us!
