Are You a Reverse Narcissist?

Published: Thu, 02/16/17

Hi !

I'm trying to steer clear of a nap today. It sounds so good but if I want to right my sleep schedule, I have to stand strong against the lure of the electric blanket and soft pillows. It's hard!

So - how many of you know a narcissist?

Maybe you are one and nobody's ever told you (it's okay, you wouldn't believe anything bad about yourself even if they did lol).

Well I'm not one, but I've known some. They think they're all that and a bag of chips. Nothing they do is wrong. Everyone SHOULD admire them (and if they don't, there's obviously something wrong with them). This goes for everything from how awesome their work is to their stunning good looks (at least in their own minds).

They think their health should be perfect and are appalled when the doctor tells them otherwise. They feel like everyone else ought to be so appreciative of everything they do and it really irks them when they're not.

What's the opposite of this mindset?

Low self esteem. Lack of confidence. Feeling worried that people won't like what you create, how you look, etc. You may feel obligated to do so much for everyone else because they deserve it.

You really have to work on confidence levels. They won't raise themselves.

Two things can help:

#1 - Self Care.

Doing it makes you focus on yourself and what's right about you. My free 52 week challenges now has almost 200 participants (a healthy mix of men and women) who are all striving to focus on their needs and build that level of confidence up that it's OK to put yourself first and feel good about what you do in career, health, relationships, etc. It's all about goals.

#2 - Learn about confidence.

Kate Rieger just released a PLR biz in a box on this topic, and because it's a learned skill for so many people, it's a good idea to read tips and implement them. You can use this to teach others, too - in all areas where confidence is needed - dating, career and success, health, parenting, aging, and more.

I know as someone who leads others, I SEE a lot of confidence lacking in many of my students, and sometimes, even with ALL the right guides on what to do, it's confidence that keeps them from implementing.

Same could be said for dieters - if you have no confidence that you'll succeed and stick with it, then you'll probably fail.
