Why IMers Were Having Hissy Fits Today, Branch Systems

Published: Tue, 02/28/17

Hi !

I noticed a few full on meltdowns today as it was discovered that Amazon S3 was down. Many Internet Marketers host their launches there because it can handle the traffic volume without crashes.

For some, it was the last 24 hours of their launch, for others - day 1. For more, it was just annoying that their sales page was down even not in mid-launch.

So the right thing to do is to have a backup plan. This happened to me once when JVZoo went down and I was in mid-launch. I simply switched it to Warrior Plus and notified affiliates.

Same with hosting. Always have a plan.

And sometimes, whether it's a site that's down or maybe your own Internet goes down or a hard drive melts - you need to have a way to either enjoy your down time or be able to work on something else.

I have a couple of backup laptops now, but even if all of my electricity was down, I'd have spiral notebooks and pens.

You want to have systems in place to accommodate any emergency. Because if you don't, it's VERY stressful (I've been there).

Now let's talk branch systems.

I shared an article with y'all a week ago maybe (?) that my friend Alan had shown me that talked about developing systems instead of setting goals.

I've found this advice to be very valuable as I work on building my fiction branch into more profitability. I've noticed that before, I tried coming up with some fiction system (but didn't know what I was doing), and now, I'm simply applying my systems in IM to my fiction branch.

The same processes are applicable, such as:

- Brainstorming sessions (for PLR launches versus fiction storylines)
- Outlining processes (instead of articles or non fiction chapters, I'm outlining scenes)
- List building and networking - identical - be myself (well, a pen name)
- Advertising (targeting the niche/genre)
- Copywriting versus Blurbs

So much is the same approach. It's very freeing to me to pursue it like this. Most business branches have similar systems - like info product development and affiliate marketing. Even coaching - you'd still do many of the same things to plan the coaching sessions and help your customer achieve their goals.

Give it a try - sit down and kind of map out your typical systems. It may make it easier for you to cross over into multiple business branches and make it less intimidating for you.

Tiff ;)
