Strategic Hermit Networking, Health PLR Newsletters, Daring to Dare (Risk Taking)

Published: Fri, 06/23/17

Woke up today 9.4 pounds down on day 9. But had to slightly up my carbs a bit. I'm too sleepy on 20 carbs max. LOL! So I'm doing a mix of mindful eating with lowER carb like 50-100 max. Plus, I'm doing really well with fitness. Weights with my trainer son, biking (I did an hour at 3 AM last night!), swimming strategically to use the pool to generate force against my body without it hurting my knee like walking. Feeling pretty good about it all.

Today I am working a bit and making a strong schedule for next week and the coming July month. Gonna switch things up a bit and have massive time for fiction - I have a fun idea I want to run with but I'm not telling anyone what it is. I think I should be able to write it quickly. I'm also reading info from Nick Stephenson on his "Your First 10,000 Readers." He has an Ask Me Anything event at 3 PM.

Strategic Hermit Networking

Do any of y'all read success magazines, blogs and books? I devour them. I bought this month's Entrepreneur magazine because it has Gary Vaynerchuk on the cover (and who doesn't love him?) and I found this cool article about the trend to network "Alone, Together."

Basically, it's right up my alley as a hermit. It's talking about how more entrepreneurs are focusing on smaller networking of 2-3 people in a group as opposed to seminars with hundreds or thousands. They get to know 2-3 people really well, then they plan a get together. It's more intimate and in depth than the brief interactions and handing off of business cards that goes on in a large group where there are so many people to meet and so many speeches to attend.

Networking is so very important. Not just topical, "hey bro" type of contacts - but spending a few weeks really getting to know one strategic partner at a time. It helps your business. And it's NOT all about business. It's about bonding as humans. Talking about everything. Well, maybe not everything - but life, not just money or niches.

At large gatherings, you might feel rushed to meet and greet and get known and get to know others, so you're not really getting that deep connection that can really catapult your business. Do some people make connections at these large gatherings that lead to great success? Of course! But I'm just saying, I'm glad to hear there's a movement toward a smaller, more real setting of networking.

I have a suggestion for you. Pick someone on your friends' list on Facebook that you don't know well, but want to. Follow their feed so that you see their posts first. (On their profile page, click Following --> See First). The article suggests that and says it helps you get a pulse on the person. Don't turn into stalker friend, LOL - but just get to know them so you know where your similarities lie and differences, too - and if there's a way you can make a deeper strategic connection, it will help you having done that type of recon so to speak.

I love to choose people to connect with who have what I need to learn. I want their success in that area to rub off on me. And who knows? Maybe you can set a place and time to get together with a few people and learn from one another. No cost for seminars. Just entrepreneurs helping each other. Find a group of 2-3 people who each have a different specialty and connect all of you together. Be the driving force that forms this success team.
