Promoting Sign Ups and Sales with a Black Friday-Like Appeal

Published: Mon, 07/03/17

My kids and I started my birthday off last night (I turned 47 today - yea!) watching old movies I like. I had to fast forward through some parts. Apparently in the 80s and 90s they were much more relaxed on ratings. We watched Liar, Liar then The Breakfast Club and then Sixteen Candles. I'm a big John Hughes fan. We were crying laughing using Snapchat filters last night - the one where it puts your nose on your forehead? I couldn't see straight we were laughing so hard at the snaps we sent each other. I love moments like that filled with ridiculous laughter.

Today, my kids had balloons and sweet cards for me - talking about how much they appreciate what all I do for them and how love how close they are to me. Right now, they're out picking up my cake and grocery shopping shopping for me. We plan to grill out for the 4th tomorrow, but tonight we'll get some sort of restaurant meals to go and just enjoy being around family. That's how I like my birthdays. The only gift I told them I wanted was a journal. I feel like unless I start some sort of self accountability tracking, I'll continue quitting on myself. So I want to keep a record so I can pinpoint and solve my obstacles.

Oh tears! They just walked in as I was writing this and surprised me with gifts. I always tell them no gifts. But they got me new curtains and a storage bench for the foot of my bed. They're so precious. The journal they picked out is gorgeous, too - a soft leather feel - and grey (matches my bedroom) with gold flowers and leaves. I said, "Y'all are so good to me" (as I cried) and they said, "No, Mom - YOU'RE so good to US!" Heart. Melt.

This morning, I woke up and started going through emails. I bought something for my own use.

It's Barb Ling's Amazon Prime Cheatsheet. I use Prime ALL the time. It's saved me so much money it's ridiculous. And they have Prime Day coming up which is when only Prime members get these incredible deals (kind of like a private Black Friday sale). So her cheatsheet was under $4, and I wanted all the links at my fingertips. I didn't get any OTOs - just the cheatsheet. I love her sheets because it saves me time and I get some ideas I may not have considered. Quickens my success, so to speak.

Our family loves Amazon Prime - not only for shipping savings, but for music (it took the place of our other music and we can all have our playlists - very nice!), and for the movies. They have some original shows that are great. They have great same day (1-2 hour delivery), prime pantry, release date delivery (so if a book or game comes out, you get it the day it releases, not having to wait for shipping).

Prime Day is the 11th. So get ready to use it as a consumer OR as an affiliate to promote to prime buyers. Regardless of which niche you're in, you can go through and track the savings that day and announce it to your list - letting them grab supplies for the niche (like gardening, weight loss, anti aging, survival, etc.) and recommend they get the Prime deal and then go get the savings on particular items you recommend for the niche audience.

Don't Forget:

My bonus for the Fit Over 50s PLR sale is about to end! This is for Casey Anders' sale. Superb content.
My $7 Bug Out Survival sale is still going on today until the 7th.

Quick funny story about survival: I was reading Arun Chandran's email about his survival experience. It was terrifying. My dad had a funnier one. He was in the Navy for WWII but then went into the Air Force for Vietnam and Korea. Well for Vietnam, they had training where they parachuted out of a plane and landed in some jungle somewhere. They weren't supposed to have anything on them. And they had to spend 3 days finding their way back to camp and surviving.

Well my dad and his buddy paired up and were going through the grueling process and on the last 24 hours, they were starving. His friend said he was dreading the final 24 hours because his stomach was aching. Dad? He whips out two Snickers bars he wasn't supposed to have. "Think this'll help?" The guy said, "Jim Lambert! Why didn't you give me that when I was hungry these last two days?" Dad said, "Because I was saving it for our run to the finish line." The guy grabbed his, they devoured them and they made it to camp quickly with the energy they had from it. Dad was always sneaky in a fun way. They got there so fast the camp wasn't ready for them - and the other guys were hours behind them.

He was so funny. One time, he put a piece of Limburger cheese (which smells like death) under the flap of the pilot's oxygen mask in their plane. When the pilot took a test whiff to make sure the mask was working, he got a surprise. Dad burst out laughing, and the pilot said, "Jim Lambert! What did you DO!?" He said, "All I did was put a little Limburger cheese under that flap." Always a joker ;)

I'm going to go get some fireworks now. Amazingly, our Husky LOVES being outside with us as we do them. He's like a kid wagging his tail watching them. We try to get the quietest kind that just make a lot of sparkles.

Y'all have a fantastic week - 4th of July is special for me. My blood runs red, white and blue. Love to all those out on my subscriber list who serve(d) or have family who do.

Tiff ;)
