Happy Thanksgiving!
Published: Thu, 11/23/17
I know not everyone on my list officially celebrates Thanksgiving, but I think it's a wonderful holiday - especially in a world where so many people forget to stop, look around and realize just how grateful they should be for what they have.
Today we're gathered around enjoying a big feast and the company of one another. We're having smoked turkey, green bean casserole, broccoli rice casserole, dressing (aka stuffing to non Southerners), mashed potatoes and gravy, pea salad, deviled eggs, rolls, and tons of desserts - buttermilk cream pie, chocolate pie, key lime pie, and fudge! Someone just roll me to my bed right now because I'm sure I won't be able to walk.
Last night, I got word that my dad's condition is worsening and for a few hours, I allowed myself to be sad. But then I decided to focus on the positives - how thankful I am that I got to have a dad who made me feel so very loved. Who gardened with me, who took me on business travel just to spend time with me, who devoted hours teaching me how to golf, who cooked old Southern homemade meals so I was raised to love things like grits, fried cornbread, fresh fish, black eyed peas and more.
I'm thankful that I have a loving Mom who moved back to Texas to be near us, who taught me how to write well, who cheered me on through all of the tough times in life, and who is a pillar of support to this day. Grateful that she gets to come spend Thanksgiving with us (and bring her delicious food, too!).
I'm very thankful for my three angel babies. My Dylan who made me understand what life was all about, who lovingly pushes me toward my weight loss goals and continually makes me feel loved by reminding me of how blessed HE is to have me. My Shawn who stepped up to be a father figure to his little sister without hesitation, who works hard to pay his own way through college to take the burden off me, and who helps out every free second he can spare. My Scarlett, who is so nurturing and kind and helpful, who is fully self sufficient in her academics and who constantly cheers us all on with our goals.
And of course, y'all - my friends all around the world who have been with me through thick and thin. I love hearing about your lives, your families and traditions - and the fact that you share your journey with me as well. How amazing the Internet is. I would never have known people in all of these places - not just countries, but even other states! So thankful for technology that brings us together in a close knit community.
Y'all have a relaxing evening and just know that someone (me) is thanking God for having you in their life today.
Tiff ;)
P.S. For those who asked if I was going to do anything, I do have a Black Friday sale which is a $1,000 PLR voucher for $50 OR a lifetime total PLR option for 60% off. It runs through Cyber Monday. I'm not promoting anything with links in today's message but if you need it now due to your schedule, just shoot me an email and I'll let you see where it's at since it's already live - otherwise I'll email it out tomorrow. xox
P.P.S. Prefer a weekly email?
