People Riled Up - Do You, Manifest Usage and Teaching, Upcoming Challenges This Next Year

Published: Fri, 12/29/17

I'm about to do something very brave - go to the mall the week after Christmas. It'll be chaotic and by the end of the day I'll either hate humans or feel all giddy at how Christmas-spirity everyone is. We shall see. But baby girl needs to exchange some items for smaller sizes (must be nice).

Manifesting Topic - How to Use It and How You Can Teach with It

So this is funny (it's not). There's a person who for years used his sob story to tug at my heartstrings and get freebies. Then he began promising to pay me back little by little. I think that's a good thing, so I agreed. But he kept requesting more freebies before the older ones were ever implemented. I began saying no. "Not until you implement what I already gave you."

Then he conned another friend of mine to partner with him, and have HER ask me if she could share her challenge access with her business partner since they were doing it together. I agreed, only to find out he'd done it as a way to get around my rule for him of no more freebies.

So I blocked him from everything.

Guess what's he doing now? Trying to encourage people to pay him for coaching on how to manifest money. Granted. he hasn't succeeded himself at all - but he has a FB following of closing in on 5,000 who believe he will show them how to merely think about lottery money and it'll show up. Oh and he'll give you some lucky numbers to help in your quest.

I happened to see his banter with some people pop up on my FB wall and discovered this.

Now this, to me, is a form of scamming. "Pay me $100 for me to show you how to close your eyes and think about money using your lucky numbers and you'll get rich!"

Manifesting gets a bad rap. This (above) is NOT how it's supposed to be done. At ALL. If you're into it, more power to you. But I think it preys on people.

Manifesting CAN be done accurately. I know because I've used it in an ethical way. It happened for me back when I was ghostwriting and was asked to do a gazillion knock offs of The Secret. I felt it was mostly eye rolling material, but ONE thing stood out to me. It was a part where the guy talks about how what you want to happen will happen if you live life as if it's already happened. Something went off in my head. I was suddenly compelled to live life like a six figure marketer instead of a ghostwriter servicing other people's projects.

Life changed that day. My attitude and actions morphed into something way more entrepreneurial than working FOR others. It was fantastic. I use that concept in many areas of my life now. Most people wait for everything to line up perfectly and certain things to happen before they turn into that other persona - that successful entrepreneur. So they stay stuck. Confidence is incredibly powerful and manifesting things you want in life are deeply tied to your confidence about making it happen.

In 2018, you should work on your mindset more than anything else. The topic of manifesting always discusses the lizard brain - this is what keeps you in your comfort zone. I was reading Edmund Loh's 365 Power Manifestation guide today and it dives into that, too. I lived that way for years. Not only with work but with a horrible marriage and other aspects of my life. Until you're able to clean the slate, it's hard to move forward mentally - and if you can't do that, you get nowhere, fast.

Here's the guide I'm reading (comes with a whole plr biz in a box thing but I'm reading it for personal info):

https://jvz4.com/c/5810/287572

I loved page 15 where he talks about motivation having barriers. This stops MANY of you from reaching the finish line.  And on page 19 where he likens visualization to a compass - that hit home. It's not meant to be a "wish for it and the universe will deliver it" concept. Manifestation is a way to keep you on the path to success and help you eliminate obstacles that your mind perceives as threats.

Page 27 is awesome because it's all about the small steps you take in the beginning and the consistency required to complete your journey. It foes on to discuss the importance of having the right sequence of events take place.

This was a great read for me. Especially as I plan my 2018. I got to the six figure level years ago and you tend to get complacent. I want to reach the next level, so it'll require some new manifestation. The part about being flexible and managing your behavior.

How do you use a topic like this for profits? Manifestation of goals can be used in almost any niche - health goals, stress relief, relationship goals, financial success - you name it. It's all about having your audience figure out what they want and then making a plan to achieve it and developing the mindset to go with it.

You can create simple cheatsheets for your people to print out, or a daily planner. Remember the free planner I did for my list for their IM success? Do one of those! The best way to lead your audience and profit is to give them a concrete goal within your niche, a sample plan of attack, and inspire them daily to move toward success by helping them visualize and implement the action steps that will make it happen.

Forget about the word manifest. It sounds so hokey to some people. Think more in terms of a mindset-action steps combination. That's all it really is. And unfortunately, most people ignore the mindset altogether and try to succeed solely based on step-by-step instructions and frequently fail.

Get your head on straight - and then teach others how to do it, too.

People Riled Up - Do You

This week and last have been funny. Not only have people posted about little things they hate about marketing styles, but then everyone starts arguing about it on their post and then in private messages. Ha ha! I think it's hilarious.

What I don't understand is why people argue with others about what they like or dislike. If I say I dislike someone's videos because he slurps coffee, I think it's funny when people argue back telling me all about the qualities that marketer has in spite of his coffee slurping. That person isn't me. They don't know my boundaries or what I can or don't care to tolerate. Maybe coffee slurping is a deal breaker for me. And why did people waste time trying to convince me otherwise? Get to work!

Listen, I don't care if you have a style I dislike in marketing - maybe I don't see the appeal at all. Maybe I dislike the sound of your voice. Maybe you don't like some marketer using cuss words. Or the ads he put out on FB that targeted you and you felt stalked (saw this one too - not the fact that the person complained, but that everyone tried to convince him he was wrong for complaining). I don't care if you blab about bitcoin (as long as that's not all you are) or if you promote on Christmas Day or promote 10 items per email or have 25 OTOs.

I've seen too many people getting riled up at the person stating his or her dislike for something. Why? They don't have to like what you like. I normally haven't noticed it but it's been frequent these past two weeks. Today, for example, my friend Arun Chandran expressed his disdain for people marketing throughout the holidays up to the end of 2017. I don't argue back with him. Love him to death.

Why do I care if that's his preference? We can all see things differently. I think people get too offended when they see that their opinion differs from someone else. Arun stirs the pot. He says it reeks of desperation, so then people start making funny statements like, "Fine! More money for me" and "But, but...I'm doing it because..." (not actual quotes but sums it up).

Y'all ... calm down. You don't have to convince everyone to think like you. Or do what you do. Or avoid what you want them to avoid. If you want to sign up for your lucky lotto numbers with the guy I mentioned above, go for it! Hope you win big. I reserve the right to think you're a fool, though - and you shouldn't waste time convincing me otherwise. Do you and be happy with it.

I find the days after Christmas very productive and motivating and I will promote if I find something to promote. I won't argue with Arun. LOL That's just ridiculous. I'll let him do his thing and I'll do mine. The reason I even mention this is because some of these arguments spiral out of control and I see people wasting time, looking hideously juvenile trying to make their point, and stomping off out of a friendship all because someone disagreed with them. Silly.

What I want you to know about this is, if you see someone complain about a strategy or method or whatever - don't automatically change your ways. Even if you see 5 friends of theirs agreeing in the post or you freak out because you see someone say, "I unsubscribed from every marketer I saw promoting between December 24th and 29th" or whatever. There will be people who also unsub if you do the opposite. Never try to cast a wide net and accommodate everyone - that's not smart.

Do the type of marketing YOU feel comfortable with and that will always serve you well. And it's OKAY if someone leaves because they don't agree. I once saw one of my favorite marketers email out a joke about 9/11 widows and it was a deal breaker for me. Others thought it was genius. But that's okay, too. I don't need to go convince everyone else to do the same as me. I'm fine adhering to my own values.

Make 2018 the year where you wear blinders and do what you like and not give a single care about what anyone else is up to. Life's more enjoyable that way.
