They Laugh at Me for Using HTML But Here's What They Don't Know... and More!

Published: Thu, 05/17/18

Do you ever lose sleep over other peoples' problems? I do. In fact 99% of what I get nervous about are little things other people are going through. Really stinks because if I stayed in my lane and only concerned myself about my issues, I'd be fine right now. LOL! I was up a lot last night so spent today napping. Ugh!

I can't wait for summer ;)

So the headline for my email today isn't one of those "they laughed when I tried to play the piano" ones but a real situation. And there's a lesson in it for you.

It was a conversation I was in with a bunch of other marketers and someone asked what the last launch they did was built with - as in page builder. Everyone shot off their fancy site builders (and normally, I would have said Converzly, since I use that a lot), but I said...

"FrontPage."

They all burst into laughing fits at me. "Tiffany! That's like from 1990 or something."

"The year 2,000 I'll have you know!" was what I was thinking...but I just kind of laughed with them laughing at me and let them carry on with their conversation.

What they didn't know is that my last "Front Page" launch brought in over $16,000 (and is still making sales). So who's laughing now? :) (Probably the person whose page builder brought in $100,000 but let's not think about that).

My point is - there was a reason I used my old HTML builder. It's easy. Easier than ANY page builder I've ever owned. It's a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) tool and I can whip out pages super fast.

I think the reason I did it with FP is because I was in a hurry and didn't want to have to get immersed with too many options. I just wanted a clean page with the information and an image and video, period.

You don't have to go to the draconian era like me and use Front Page - but sometimes, going back to the basics with easy tools like HTML is a blessing for newbies who either can't understand or can't afford pricey page builders.

Charles Harper just launched an HTML for Internet Marketers bundle (with PLR rights) of 20 video tutorials on sale for just over $10 here:

OR, if you want to use it as PLR rights, you can use the elements in the bundle like the sales pages and all that to sell the course to others who DO want to learn to use HTML. Audio files are included too if you want to use it as a podcast.

Main takeaway is this - you do YOU - do what tools work for YOU, do what strategy you feel comfortable with. Does that mean you stay stuck on Front Page forever? No. Do what I do and learn and level up. But always do what works for you in the moment because I make progress. I produce products. I take action. And many of the people recommending pricey and advanced tools just DON'T - they simply jump on bandwagons. Not everyone, but some.

Moving On...

Did y'all read Arun Chandran's email today? It was  great. Words of wisdom. And he's so right. Many people never look at the residual income aspect of building a business. They do single pay income aspects and the problem with that is, you're always one disaster away from hitting the panic button and needing to list a GoFundMe.

When I was hospitalized, the day before it happened, I didn't feel good and didn't email. I only emailed out during those 4-5 days to say I was hospitalized. But as I was sitting there with an NG tube down my throat, worrying about my body - I didn't have to worry about my business.

Sales were continually coming in because I'd set my business up to bring in money for things on an ongoing basis.

The two nights I was in the hospital my PayPal showed over $1,500 - and I hadn't done anything. I earned more in various affiliate programs those 2 nights that pay out once a month, too. It's not $10k a day or anything, but it's plenty to give me peace of mind. And that comes from strategic planning and building products of value, too.

Don't fly by the seat of your pants when you're building this business - think in terms of longevity and retirement and what you'll do in case of a bigger emergency than the immediate funds you need now.

You'll be glad you did.

Well I'm off to use my Roku to log into YouTube and do a Leslie Sansone mile of walking. I need to be up to 13 miles a day for our Disney trip and the other day I tired out after a single walk through Walmart, so I have some work to do! LOL! My kids are gonna laugh at me doing those exercises but I don't mind. We laugh about it but they're so happy I'm taking care of myself now. I had a rude wake up call burning the midnight oil all the time (another topic Arun talked about today) and I learned my lesson.

Tiff ;)
