Yesterday's cookout was good. I tried a Beyond Meat burger. So realistic it creeped me out a bit and only ate half. LOL! Today is the beginning of Labor Day weekend. In my youth, that meant a party at the lake. As an adult, that sounds exhausting and I just want to relax, read, watch mindless TV and relax. And work a bit. 

I'm a bit riled up today. I've been having discussions about what amount to me as a victim mindset. 

I don't do well with victim mindsets - even when I catch myself doing it (like I did regarding my marriage). Don't like something? Change it. Sick of being fat? Eat less. Do I always listen to myself? No. I'm still struggling with weight. But I don't blame anyone else. I don't think anyone else could or should fix this for me. 

Same with our careers. I see people saying "gurus should teach for free." Why? Ridiculous. When I wanted to have a better life, I worked LONG hours. I'd work on this business from 6 AM to midnight. I worked hard to over-deliver and do my very best to spend time learning and strategizing ways to set myself apart. 

I didn't ask a guru to teach me for free. I didn't blame anyone. I saved up for courses. I shopped smart. I learned from my mistakes. I made friends who helped me learn more, even though I was a hermit who was very intimidated by socializing - even online! I didn't want to put my fat face on video, but ya know what? It's what everyone was doing, so I sucked it up and did it - so afraid - even got described as a wildebeest by another marketer - ouch! But I did it anyway.

My subscribers got to know me better. I developed loyalty and trust with them. And now, instead of 18 hour work days and struggling, I'm a consistent 6 figure marketer who can work less and earn more. 

So if you have that victim "Someone owes me" mentality, STOP IT. Work hard. It is SO rewarding.
