Realistic Scheduling, 2 Quality Things to Check Out On Sale

Published: Sat, 09/15/18

My contractor came out yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised that his bid came in over a thousand less than the handyman I'd had quote me for the work on the kids' rooms before. You'd think a handyman would be cheaper than a national company with a great reputation, but no! So always look at all of your options with everything before making a knee-jerk decision.

2 Quality Things to Check Out That Are on Sale

I'm trying to get caught up today (you'll see why in the next section) so I'm just going to let you know what items I discovered that are good quality and worth checking out - I just don't have time to write up a thorough review with what's coming up, but I'll let you know my thoughts on them below:

#1 - How to Build a Better Business PLR is from a newcomer to the PLR biz (Kendra Sette) but she has lots of ties to some incredible people behind the scenes, and her work was incredible. I got a sneak peek. Her first launch is here:

#2 - 100K in 1 Year (New Volume) is ready by Dennis Becker and Barb Ling - and it's the 2019 email class enhancement 100k in a year blueprint volume. Very step-by-step stuff. On sale here:

Realistic Scheduling

Someone asked me if I would share my daily routine and typical way I run my day. I never mind doing that, but just so you know, it just changes all the time. I'm like Sybil with 16 different personalities when it comes to going through my days. Sometimes I'm super organized and methodical with everything - and other days I'm a hot mess, randomly working on stuff in no order, not completing it, etc. Friday I was productive. Today, it's a mess.

And then there's everything in between. Some days I wake up and get right to work, and others I have a hard time not getting distracted by FB drama or something else ridiculous.

I think that's what appeals to me about this career, though. The fact that every day, I don't feel the way I did the day before necessarily, and so I can do whatever I want to based on my energy levels and enthusiasm. Do I sometimes work through the low energy, messy days, even though I don't feel like it? Yes! You do what you have to do. Especially if you're on a deadline.

But basically, I will say this: I keep a daily tally of projects I'm working on and what tasks need to be done for it. I then try to knock out as much of those tasks as possible. I am a machine when it comes to keeping tabs on my emails because if I don't, it would overwhelm me.

I try to stay aware of how I'm feeling and tackle tasks according to that. When I have lots of clarity and energy, I brainstorm and write. When I'm lazy and distracted, I try to knock out the more boring tasks, like creating a listing for an upcoming product. I'm also someone who likes a good work-life balance. So I definitely alternate my day.

For example, Friday morning, I woke up and responded to emails and reviewed a product before writing an email to my list. Then I did the dishes and a load of laundry and watched a show on Amazon Prime (Animal Kingdom). I brainstormed the remainder of my upcoming PLR launch for the beginning of October and did those listings. I cleaned house and make sure the kids' rooms were clean (since that's where the contractor I hired will be working). Then back to more work and ended my day late because my daughter had a birthday party to go to that lasted until 10:30 PM.

But today? I'm sick. And guess what? It's not the glamorous "take any day off" lifestyle I'd like it to be in this moment. I have a project starting Monday, I haven't gotten the tutorial I needed back from someone else, I'm leaving for vacation in a few weeks so I HAVE to get ahead on everything and laundry still needs to be done, etc. So this is one of those days where I push through and work in spite of whatever low energy levels I may have or how sick I feel. It just happens to be like that today because of pressing stuff. There are other times I enjoy the luxury of shutting down when I'm sick because nothing is pressing. Oh well.

I still love the flexibility I have with running my business however it suits me on a day to day basis, not like a corporate robot who has to have a strict routine. Been there, done that and hated it. But don't look to anyone else's schedule to dictate how you should be doing it. I see Liz Tomey out riding her bike and stopping to eat lunch at a restaurant with her laptop open. This business is whatever you WANT it to be!

Okay I'm off to slug my way through this sick day. Hope you have an awesome weekend!

Tiff ;)
