As the Year Wraps Up... (Personal)

Published: Wed, 11/21/18

It's almost time for 2019.

Some of you will look back as the year winds down and feel, like I did this week, kind of disgusted and annoyed and sad about what you didn't accomplish that you set out to do.

We all have those goals that got brushed aside for whatever reason or excuse we choose to pick.

But today is a fresh start. So is tomorrow. So is 2019.

I found a box of old letters my Mom had written me in college and in them, something shook me up. I sent it to my Mom.

She told me she cried when she read it. (It made me tear up too - for her and for me as well). I didn't mean for that to happen. I just wanted her to see what I saw - a wake up call to both of us that if we're not careful, dreams and goals can be smothered by our own hands.

Mom has always wanted to be a fiction writer. It's her dream and when I say she's good at it, I mean she is AMAZING. She sent me this manuscript in college and the whole dorm was bawling when they finished reading it. It was a romance.

So here's what this part of the letter said (I got her permission to share this story with you):

That was 10,634 days ago.

She never did polish it up and send it in. She got sidetracked. I don't say this to shame my Mom in any way - on the contrary.

I'm sitting here at 48 doing the same damn thing she did. We ALL do it in some areas of our lives. I am so proud of her and envious of her talent. But reading that was a wake up call to me.

I don't want it to be 10,634 days later when I read a FB memory or something about me wanting to publish fiction and I'm still stuck. I don't want it to be another year of me being 100+ pounds overweight.

She was right on the cusp of fame and fortune - I guarantee it. And it's not too late. I bought her Scrivener last night and sent her to the download. Bought it for myself, too. I did it because it's the professional tool many, if not most self publishing authors use - most aren't sitting around like me with torn out spiral papers cluttering the area under their desk.

I want us to make this a year of shining the light on our messy ways of avoiding our dreams and goals. We keep switching gears and this year, we need to put Dreams First. Start our days working toward that goal, because when it becomes the 3rd, 5th or 8th thing on our to do list, it gets buried deeper and deeper into the pit of 10,634 days later.

We have to take our goals seriously.

Okay, quick heads up on two things before I head into the kitchen. It's baking day.

#2 - Details of the 21-Day Dual Niche Profits Challenge

I am very excited about this one. For three weeks, at your own pace, we're going to be covering the strategies, content creation, branding and traffic tactics for tapping into some of the most lucrative niches you can imagine online - those that have both tangible and digital profit opportunities.

Day 1: Finding Lucrative Dual Niches - I'm going to share some ideas on how to determine if a niche has dual earning potential plus go over several examples so that you understand the concept fully.

Day 2: Drilling Down the Best Digital Affiliate Products to Promote  - We're going to cover some of the best resources for promoting digital products and what makes them good as well as which ones you should not promote.

Day 3: Top Tangible Affiliate Products That Convert - Same as above, only for tangible options

Day 4: Reviewing Digital Products for Maximum Commissions - Review strategies for digital and tangible products differ in many ways, so I'm going to cover strategies that help conversions - stuff that helps me win contests all the time because the promos convert well.

Day 5: Tangible Review Options that Convert Well - Same as above, only for tangible products.

Day 6: The Best Content for Audience Engagement and Commissions - There are several methods that really build loyalty to you as a leader in your niche. You can't just be putting out reviews. We're going to go over these content slants to help you generate a buzz and get a devoted audience.

Day 7: Creating the Best Lead Magnet for Loyalty - Lead Magnets are the reason people sign up to your list, so you can't just plop anything on there and expect it to work. Have to be strategic with it.

Day 8: Amazon Publishing for Branding and List Building - Amazon eBooks are great for branding and setting yourself apart as an expert. Most people don't even know you can self publish there, honestly - the average consumer - so if you do it right, you look very professional and have instant niche authority as well as traffic.

Day 9: How to Use Your Competitors' Lists Without Buying It - There are a couple of ways to do this. One is quick and easy and the other takes a bit more work, but it's very effective and helps you build a list fast.

Day 10: The Right Way to Use FaceBook for Free Traffic - We'll cover some mistakes and some strategies you can implement to use Facebook for engagement and traffic and sales.

Day 11: Simple Blog SEO for Tons of Traffic Your Competitors Miss - I normally hate SEO, but there are a few things that are easy and effective in helping you rank for free traffic.

Day 12: Using YouTube to Build Brand Awareness and Showcase Expertise and Advice - I use Vimeo primarily for some niches, but regardless of where you're out, we're going to go over the steps for video marketing and various ways you can utilize it to help grow your business.

Day 13: Posting Strategically on Pinterest and Instagram to Grow Your Audience - Images and hashtags and commentary are all it takes to use these two sites effectively but why not use them? They generate free traffic, so you might as well learn the ropes.

Day 14: Becoming a Podcast Personality in Your Niche - I'm loving podcasting now that I found a super simple way to do it. And some niches are better than others for it.

Day 15: Turning PLR into a Profit Puller for Your Site - Y'all know I sell PLR, but I use it, too. There are many ways you can use it for profits.

Day 16: Being a Broadcast Marketer Using Trends and Cutting Edge Information - I'm not a fan of follow up emails for many niches. They get stale and stagnant. We're going to cover broadcast best practices here.

Day 17: Creating a Buyer's Guide for Your Dual Niche Audience - these are GREAT for dual niches. I love a good buyer's guide, so we're going to talk about creating one that will be a fantastic resource for your people as well as a profit generator for you.

Day 18: Cashing in on Your Ability to Field Questions from a Hungry Audience - This is a little strategy that's so effective but so many people fail to do. It's super simple and free, so I want to share it with you.

Day 19: Countering or Expanding on Competitor Content to Boost Profits - I love using competitor content as a stepping stone to help me make sales. It's like half the work's been done for you and you're only building off their content, not swiping it unethically or anything.

Day 20: Conducting a Case Study to Gain Instant Credibility and Commissions - I drool over case studies. They're one of my favorite things to consume as a buyer. And it helps you make a lot of money when you do it. They're fascinating.

Day 21: Creating a Month-Long Maintenance Schedule for Dual Niche Domination - I didn't want to wrap up the lessons with a way to keep you going in the right direction, so I want to help you generate a schedule that keeps your business growing using the above strategies over time. We'll talk about a daily, weekly, monthly and annual routine.

If you want to participate, get signed up here and we'll begin December 3rd (you can start any day and go at your own pace):
