If He Can Do It, You Can, Too!

I know how intimidated I can be with anything technological. But if
we'd just give it a try, there's no end to what we can do!
This morning I woke up to find out my 16 year old son had won
$1,000 by helping me put together a video about the Warrior Forum
for Allen Says.

Now the process was pretty simple, yet I myself would have been far
too intimidated by it. I wrote the copy and gave him the image
(there was just one). Then I went in there and watched him (and
commented like a nagging mom).
The result was a cool video that addressed everything Allen wanted
- why the Warrior Forum was the greatest guru ever and not some
individual.
You can watch the video I submitted here:

Watching my son use Movie Edit Pro 14 to make the video was very
cool - and he's going to mentor his mom on it. It was a drag and
drop series and he enlarged and downsized certain shots to fit the
music we had on there.
(FYI I didn't like the music at first but he chose it because the
theme was gurus and it says, "All I wanna do is (bang bang bang
bang) - I'm gonna take your money." I thought that was pretty
insightful of him connecting the dots between those who call
themselves gurus and do nothing but rip people off.
Once I saw him do it, I was feeling kind of foolish that I'd only
yet dabbled in Camtasia and hadn't even given myself a shot at
custom creations.
If you're feeling intimidated by something like this, don't be like
me and put it off - try it! If a 16 year old kid can do it, so can
we!
