Web 2.0 Joint Venture Secrets

Published: Sat, 01/24/09

Hi !

I just had the coolest JV offer sent to me via Twitter Direct
Message. He DM'd me and then emailed me after I requested more
information. Why is this newsworthy? Because he piqued my interest
to the point of making me check everything out in detail - I
stopped everything else I was doing for his product.

As I've told you before, I'm picky about who I JV with. Sometimes I
turn people down because either their product isn't good OR it's
not the right fit for my target audience. I did it this week -
someone had a great idea for the product but it was so poorly
written that you would have had a difficult time deciphering what
they said - even though the idea was great and the steps were
impressive. I turned them down.

With this latest JV offer, I didn't realize he was using a system
on me until after I read the product! LOL! He used his system -
and I fell for it, hook line and sinker - but it's a positive, not
a negative - he got me signed on as a JV partner using what, a 140
character microblog post? Impressive!

This guy created a product about securing profitable Joint Venture
partnerships in the world of Web 2.0 - and you know that's my thing
- social networking. So I was all ears (or eyes in this case). I
thought it was funny that part of the topic was exactly how he
approached me - a Tweet followed by an email.

I instantly downloaded the product because that's my first step of
weeding people out - product sucks? No JV. But it was very well
written, professional, etc. Pass! Then I looked at the affiliate
tools - because as a JV partner, I want to know that you've taken
steps to procure my success.

The toolbox was something I've never seen before. It was so
comprehensive that I've bookmarked it as my future template for
what to give my own affiliates. I never use canned email, as you
know - I like to tell you things from my own point of view.

Bottom line is:

1.) Joint Ventures can be very profitable and as a marketer, you
need to be using them.

2.) You have to learn how to approach a JV the right way if you
want myself or any marketer to consider pairing up with you.

3.) This guy knows his stuff, period. I did NOT know him before his
Tweet. You might - I can't keep track of everyone online. But I'm
impressed and I know you will be, too.

Let me know your thoughts on it if you read it - are you as
impressed as I am? I like to hear feedback if I recommend anything
to you because it helps me know what you need and want. So sound
off - shoot me an email back!

Have a great weekend!
Tiff :)
