End of Week 1 Going Jobless Update
Published: Thu, 07/30/09
Well today marked the last day of week 1 of my 30 day "quit my job
to lose weight and gain some perspective on what I want to do with
my business" journey. I want to check in with you once a week,
though while I'm gone.
I have been vlogging (video blogging) one two different blogs about
this process. On my Internet marketing blog, I'm Vlogging about the
business side of things and on my SparkPeople blog, I'm Vlogging
about the weight loss portion of it all. I'll add those links at
the bottom of this email in case you want to check them out.
The IM vlog has seemed to help a lot of other marketers make
decisions about their own business - from newbies who now know what
dangers to avoid (eek I'm a cautionary tale!) to seasoned IM vets
who say, "Yeah I've got to prune my business down a little too."
So far in my IM vlog, which I plan to transcribe into text below
each video this week, this is some of what I've covered:
Day 1: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/main/day-1-of-tiffany-dow-being-jobless
- Making sure you have a self sustaining business rather than just
"making money online." (I couldn't take off 30 days if I had no
income coming in!)
Day 2: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/main/day-2-of-tiffany-dows-jobless-journey
- Scaling back the branches of your business to those that make the
most money but that you find most enjoyable, too.
- My idea for an in your face real review site.
Day 3: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/main/day-3-tiffs-30-day-job-reinvention-quest
- Being a "yes person" when you need to say "no."
- Having focus in your business so that it's more profitable.
- What is your support system?
Day 4: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/main/day-4-business-reinvention-and-focus
- Are you waiting for lightening to strike or working hard to build
a fire of profits?
- Making sure your profits match your passions
- Do you get personal satisfaction in what you're doing online?
Day 5: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/main/day-5-business-reinvention-what-to-do-with-the-plr-mini-mart
- The ONLY MLM program I would ever personally consider (not that
the rest aren't good - it's just a fun program - but don't go
sending me links right now because I'm pruning, not adding to my
business LOL).
- My evaluation of the PLR Mini Mart site that I own and what I
plan to do with it in the coming weeks and months
Day 6: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/main/day-6-the-info-product-branch-evaluation
- My info product empire and how it sustains me when I want to take
off to the beach (or spend 30 insane days on the treadmill!)
- Why you don't have to take the same stale route to info product
creation
Day 7: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/main/day-7-end-of-week-1-of-30-day-jobless-on-purpose-journey
- Which branch of your business does blogging go under? Maybe none
of the above!
- What makes up the trunk of an online marketer's task list?
So as you can see, I did quite a bit of contemplating while I was
walking my butt off (literally) on the treadmill. I loved the blog
comments and direct email feedback my readers/viewers gave me -
it's very informative hearing other people's viewpoints on what I'm
discussing via the vlog.
Oh, and here's my SparkPeople page for those who are also on the
weight loss journey: my.sparkpeople.com/tiffyrae - and on the right
sidebar, you'll see my latest vlog entries where I talk about what
I'm doing to lose weight.
Have a great weekend coming up! I'm heading into week 2- wish me
luck!
Tiff ;)
