Have you noticed what's already in stores and in commercials?
Halloween. My husband had a Facebook post the other day that said
he was excited to see a commercial for Yankee Candle Halloween
scents already and my friends are talking about seeing the
décor and costumes in stores already - and it's only
July!
If you haven't already started putting up new content for your
Halloween sites, now is the time. Orders start coming in at the
beginning of August and quit the week after Halloween (I know this
as a paying Mom of 3 and as an owner of several costume domains
myself)! This niche is what really got me moving in affiliate sales
above all other products.
I AM your target audience, so I'd like to share what makes me
tick as a consumer.
As a Mom who forks over the cash, Scarlett alone gets 3 costumes
every year. It's excessive I know. It's my splurge.
Here's why we do it. She needs one for her school (has to be
really toned down, no accessories like a sword, etc - and she
wanted to be a female Ninja with weapons, so that wouldn't
work, so we had to go with Batgirl). This costume usually comes
home looking beat up from a hard day in elementary school and on
the playground.
She needs one for Halloween trick or treating night - this is
usually the one I let her pick without my input (the Ninja). And
the third? Well she doesn't NEED it at all - but I'm a
sucker for, "Oh Mom, PLEASE - can I just get that one to play
around the house in?"
My son Shawn? I buy him two - a normal one for school (can't be
gory because they'll scare the lower school) and a horror one
usually - he was Freddy Kruger last year - for trick or treating.
So that right there is FIVE costumes I shell out for between August
and October. And I have another son, but he's outgrown it now
thank God (don't think that didn't tack on at least 2 more
costumes when he did wear them, which would mean my house ordered
7).
This niche is GOOD for affiliate income, period. I have lenses on
Squidoo in various accounts. I have domains I own that I do nothing
much with anymore that bring in steady money during this time. And
it's easy to find tons of good stuff to promote on Amazon or
other affiliate networks.
This niche is a buyer's niche - people looking for costumes
aren't tire kickers. They are ready to purchase.
I've been working on a new PLR pack for the PLR Mini Mart for
this niche. Here's the WSO link so you can see the titles and
