I think it's time for an AC checkup. It's the type of maintenance I always put off and then regret when something goes out. But my outdoor AC unit is making noise and I can't tell if it's a twig stuck in the fan or what. Sounds like it's about to launch into outer space. Maintenance items for my business, I always take care of - WordPress updates, etc. But homeownership? I always say "later." Big mistake. Now I'm trying to be more responsible and head off problems before they begin.

Watch Your Sneaky Business Spending

I was talking to someone about the money they spend on domains and I realized there are many things that sneak up on us and before we know it, we're spending a fortune.

Take that example of a domain. There are 365 days in a year. A domain, without a coupon code, is just around $12. That doesn't sound bad on a Tuesday morning when a lightbulb goes off and you envision yourself an Internet superstar with your new URL.

The problem arises when there are people who think up domains they plan on building out over and over again, week after week or month after month. I know some who own hundreds.

And have to renew them year after year. Even if you bought one a week, that's going to add up to over $600 a year, and if you're sitting on the domain not getting anything for it, that's a big waste of money.

Look to see what you're paying for in renewal fees or with tools you barely, if ever use. Would it make more sense to outsource a task than pay monthly or a tool you don't use often?

That's it for me today - y'all have a great rest of your day!

Tiff :)
