I spent this week going through online profiles of the best photographers for senior type pics in our area. Found one that's perfect for Scarlett - so I booked her for June (after her final exams). I'm giving her this nice photoshoot once a year since she won't have a typical yearbook doing distance education. Should be fun! I'm going to have the same lady do my author pics, but of course, I want to lose weight first. LOL!

7 Mistakes Service Providers Make Online

You want to steer clear of these whenever possible:

#1: Using Canned Bids - Instead of original ones that show you put some thought into the client's project, you just cut and paste a blanket bid response. I beat out a lot of my competitors just using this one tip!

#2: Being Too Shy to Brand Yourself - Just because you're providing services and not a successful marketer doesn't mean you have to stay behind the scenes. Be the go to person - the ghostwriter or copy pro to the gurus. 

#3: Letting Projects End Badly - Always make it right whenever possible - especially if feedback is involved, but word of mouth can harm you. You never want to have a sour client. 

#4: Taking on Too Much Work - It's tempting, but it's better to be booked and make people wait than overload yourself. People WILL wait. Being in demand is proof that you're one of the best.

#5: Outsourcing to Others - If the client hired you, they hired YOU, not someone somewhere else in the world. I saw many people use portfolios of their own work, then outsource it to non-English speaking writers so the work was not up to par. 

#6: Constantly Running Sales - You'll train your customers to wait for sales and they'll never pay full price if you do this. Make them sporadic and very limited.

#7: Not Putting Yourself as a Client - Never rely on contract work alone. Make yourself a client and start working on your own residual income projects, like info products for example.
