New Limited PLR - A Senior's Guide to Starting a PLR Business; Power of Change PLR; Distractions & Failure
Published: Fri, 08/20/21
Scarlett's going to her first homeschool party tonight from 6-10. It's a group of 15-17 year old girls, so it's cool that someone planned this for them to meet up and get to know each other. The mom is making them dinner and they're having outdoor s'mores in their firepit and swimming. Should be lots of fun.
Of course me, being the paranoid person I am, plan on parking nearby and making her check in with me every 30 minutes to ensure she's safe. It'll be a long four hours in my car, but I'll grab something to eat and just work and be on social sites all night until it's time to pick her up.
Here's what I have for you today and tomorrow's email should go out at 9 AM EST...

Don't Let Distractions Cause You to Fail
There are so many random distractions in the world - some free, some paid - but all with the potential to take away your attention and put it on something other than your business. If you're prone to procrastinating with your tasks, look at what's distracting you. It might be social media posts. Or Netflix, Hulu or any other number of show sites. I'll admit whenever a favorite show drops on Netflix, I binge watch until I'm done. It's hard to work knowing it's out there!
Back when I was all into politics, I was glued to the news channels 24/7. What an utter state of stress that was. Hard to focus when it looks like the world's falling to pieces.
I have since learned to curb my distractions and only allow them when I see fit. If not, it can cause all kinds of problems. I'm teaching my kids this, too.
It's not just when things are bad, either. Yes, the negative is attention-grabbing and sometimes startling, but the positive has the same effect. You get a dopamine hit and it becomes addictive to try to recreate those emotions. Both good and bad distractions drain you of energy.
This is energy that should be going toward your business endeavors. You get focused on stuff you can't control, like the politics of the world or various crises.
Does this mean you have to abandon all news and social sites forever? No! But you do need to learn how to properly manage it.
Make yourself hit certain goals and milestones in your work before you allow a curtailed amount of time to spend on these distractions. Put your phone out of reach as you hunker down and get work done.
That's it for me today - hope y'all have a great rest of your day!
Tiff ;)
