I don't know about y'all, but in the past, social media has really lured me into sounding off about stuff - especially if someone posts something and I want to give my opinion or whatever. This past year has really made me realize the UNimportance of doing that.

It was hard to wean myself off of it, but once you do, when see something you feel is stupid and you have an urge to reply, then you shrug and say, "Eh...let them figure it out. Not my problem." It is SO freeing! There are billions of people on this planet and you do NOT have to nor should you try to change everyone's minds about stuff. Write a book if you want to do that. Start a blog. 

But comments on social media to argue stuff? So much an utter waste of time. LOL! Try it. Spend that time doing something positive for yourself.

Raise Your Standards for Professional Success

If you can honestly say you accept things at a lesser standard than which you wish they were, then you're not alone. I'm right there with you. From husbands (lol) to products I buy to people I have helped when they didn't put as much effort as I did into their success - I have lowered my standards until one day, I stopped. 

In order to achieve that life you want - both personally and professionally - you have to be willing to turn down anything less than what you're going for. 

That doesn't just mean turning people or items away. It means you hold yourself accountable for giving your all, too. You have to raise the standards for your own behavior. Even on things you can't stand - give 110%. 

The other day when someone stressful reared his head in our lives, I wanted to not go to the gym. But my son (and trainer) talked me out of it. He made me realize I was lowering the standards for myself. "Oh, stressed...okay, well I guess I can avoid working out today." No! That day I needed the workout more than ever. I pushed myself. I did more, focused better. It paid off. 

Don't be all wishy washy with people online, either. Promising to promote them when you don't feel it's a good it for your list is you being weak, not polite. Mute the negative people and those who don't share your go getter attitude. 

Increase your standards for the products you buy, the people you network with, the effort you commit to putting in and more.
