5 Days Left of 2019, 1 Time V Monthly! Nice Marketing Kit, Biggest Problem

Well my son is now heading to Corpus Christie to spend a late Christmas and New Year's Eve with his girlfriend's family. It's cold and foggy here a lot lately. Not bone chilling cold, just cold for a Texan - you know, high in the 50s, etc. Supposed to be like that all week. I just wish it would ice over, but not until school starts so we get a snow day. 

Okay we only have 5 days left of this year and decade, including today - how planned are you? Remember, be flexible just not foolish. You want to be able to change things if you need or want to, and not be totally rigid, but also not acting like some silly employee who can't focus on something enough to get it to completion. 

That's one thing I highly encourage y'all to do this year. Once a day, put on your employer and employee hat - in the morning, and at night.

So in the morning, view your business as an employer. What do you expect of your employee today? What would you tolerate? Someone watching Netflix or being on Facebook all day? No way. As an employee, each morning, think about what you need to do to keep the boss happy. Think about how you want to climb up in the company to a more lucrative level. 

And again, each night, evaluate your progress that day - as an employer, would you be happy with your employee's performance or be considering a pink slip for them? Would you need to do a better job motivating and incentivizing them? That's important, too! As an employee, are you nervous about how poorly you performed? Are you having to be sneaky and avoid work or are you doing what you need to do?

What's Your Biggest Problem? Here's Mine

When it comes to this marketing career, my biggest problem USED to be technical stuff. I ended up figuring out that I didn't have to hyperventilate (lol) and meltdown over technical issues, but just ask for help. It was as easy as that. 

When you're networking, people (friends), lend a hand. 

What ended up being my biggest problem is sticking to a schedule - consistency with one. I can come up with 30 different ways to manage my tasks, but adhering to it appears to be just outside of my reach. 

I'm working on that!

The biggest thing I'd like to achieve is freeing up more time for my fiction (Kindle) branch. So that might mean queuing up emails and promotions and tips and shares on the weekend so that they go out on my behalf while I focus on fiction during the week. 

That would be ideal.

But what inevitably happens is I get sucked into things going on that very day. I love learning, so it might be someone sharing some new strategy with me or something. 

One Christmas gift I loved from my oldest son Dylan was a thing, long, hardbound notepad. Most notebooks are wide, and this one was list-like. This is where I plan to jot down all of the "return to" ideas so I can continue on with fiction and remind myself later to return to something on the weekend. 

Now does this mean all marketing work stops on the weekdays? No. I still answer emails, engage with people, etc. I'll inevitably be doing things, but there's a difference between breaking from fiction to handle something, and letting entire new "squirrel!" ideas seep into my day and take over completely. 

So what is your biggest problem and more importantly, how are you handling it going forward?
