Careful and Cautious or Can't Get Out of Your Own Way?

When I was a child, you would have never caught me on a diving board. Or going into a haunted house - or doing anything else that could potentially go wrong. In my mind, I was being careful and cautious - smart. 

But there comes a time when you realize you're the one standing in your own way of true happiness, of fun and success. Many of you do that now - trying to make sure all your ducks are in a row (hint: your ducks won't line up perfectly, ever). I do it, too. I AM doing it - and it's annoying me. 

But we have to take a deep breath, leap and know we won't splat. We'll live through the launches we're terrified of, the networking we really feel intimidated by, and the criticism we'll inevitably get from someone who feels we're not their cup of tea. 

Make sure you know the different between saving yourself and sabotaging yourself.
