Starting a WAH Biz, Challenge Profits, Blogging Best Practices & More!

You asked for it and I delivered: At the bottom of this email is a new video of my 2 rescue doggies, Mandy and Delilah.

Yesterday was a great day. I woke up laughing because y'all let me know I accidentally called Ron Douglas TON Douglas. I had to reassure him I wasn't calling him heavy. We discovered our router died, so before I realized I could hook up directly to the model, I was queuing up my email on my iPhone, using clumsy fingers and that "over 40" eyesight that makes it hard to see small text. LOL!

Biz Note: Regarding the whole Amazon cutting commission thing...there's lots of controversy over it. As with SO many things in this business, nothing shocks me because I've been through things like randomly having a YouTube account shut down for no reason, confirming there was no reason and yet not having it reinstated. I've had Squidoo close down all our hard work. I had some other platform shut down (forgot its name but I had a profitable little pet site on it).

My point is, unless you're 100% fully in charge, expect bad behavior at some point. Never put all your eggs in one basket - diversify your online business. I have niche affiliate sites, I sell PLR, I create courses, I'm a digital affiliate, I publish on Kindle, and more. And each one of those is diversified, too! For example, with niche affiliate sites (tangibles or a mix), I have them on survival, cosmetics, toys, and so on. I don't JUST promote Amazon on them - I promote Walmart, Target, and off the wall retailers I find on Share-a-Sale.

It always reminds of that "but you knew I was a snake" story where the old lady rescues a snake and eventually is shocked that she gets bit and the snake said, "You know what I was." So think of it like that.

Okay here's what I have for you today:

Blogging Best Practices

There are some thing that I feel are contractual type issues between a blogger and a reader. These are things you should always or never do.

One is never plagiarize others. Too few people comprehend the ethics and legalities of curation. It's an awesome concept, but if you're not up to speed on the idea, don't try it - just write from scratch.

Or, if you want to utilize it in your blog, read a book on it, like Curation Nation. I liked the book and interviewed the author a long time ago.

Another thing you don't want to do is be inconsistent. We've talked about that this week but it's something you want to avoid - going long spans without publishing on your blog. It leaves your readers in a lurch, forcing them to turn to someone else.

And lastly, something you should always do is be interesting to read! No one likes a facts only post that reads like a high school science book. Have some writing flair, some personality. It really stinks that we're taught to be so sterile in school because outside of school, you need to have a punch to your content.

Doggie Video!

Here's a video (expand it larger to see better) of my 2 rescue doggies Mandy and Delilah playing in the morning. It's cute because Delilah is a pound heavier than Mandy and usually dominates her while playing. But once in awhile she'll lay on her back and let Mandy feel tougher than her. Delilah has such a derpy little cute face and Mandy just looks so frazzled with her hair all over the place. I love them.

That's it for me today - y'all have a great rest of your day!
