How Many Blogs Are You Running?
Published: Mon, 09/07/15
I had to laugh yesterday when one of my readers mentioned how many sites and blogs I own. It's true. I own many. Sometimes I stay on them non stop (I have a few like that) for years.
Sometimes I launch it, flake out on it, but plan to go back to it someday.
And sometimes I revisit it sporadically, when the mood strikes.
As marketers, we always buy domains and start multiple blogs. I don't think I've met a marketer yet who has just one site.
That's okay.
Problem is, trying to manage all of them gets to be a pain. I hate those days when WordPress send me dozens of emails telling me some new version of WordPress is available and I need to update my site.
Or I log into one blog and see that a plugin I love and use on every blog is outdated. I have to sit there going through blog after blog logging in and updating.
Annoying!
And let me tell you why you never want to leave things UN-updated... awhile back Hostgator had me on the phone with major site drama. All sorts of hacking going on.
I was frantic.
Turns out some hacker had exploited something I'd failed to update. I don't even begin to grasp how all this is done, but I received a stern warning to "update my blogs" at all times.
Again - what a pain that is.
I love the idea of this new bulk blog manager here: http://jvz2.com/c/5810/179551
One blog login, and from there you can manage all of your blogs - like a dashboard for all or something.
It's called WP Central Hub. Kind of a neat concept. And even if you have different hosting companies (I have some sites on a different one) or servers for different blogs, it still works.
You don't need tons of different usernames and passwords (although I use a tool for that, so it hasn't been a nightmare).
You can post content to any of your blogs from one place. You can install themes or plugins from one place, without having to log into each site separately. And of course, update it all from one place, too.
This is on an earlybird special, so I thought I'd tell you about it while you had some times to get it cheaper: http://jvz2.com/c/5810/179551
As for me, I'm completing the last details for my Rule Breaker's Entrepreneurial Success bundle that goes live tomorrow. It's a good butt-kicker pack of PLR.
Tomorrow I plan to take a day off. Just want to clean, cook a roast in the crockpot, finish decorating, and relax. For those following along with my unplugged challenge, just an update on that, too...
I only had Drudge left in my bookmarks, and I had to delete that today. By habit, I clicked on it - but before it even loaded, I exited out, realizing what I had done. I have found myself much more at peace being in my little bubble.
Tiff ;)
