Social Graphics Tutorial and Bundle, Toy Content FAQ and Savings, Teach Me Series
Published: Sat, 10/31/15
This has been a crazy, exhausting week. Just as I fell asleep for an hour or two, I got a text saying, “Hey Mom – change of plans – you need to come pick me up” at 11:15 at night. All the way across town. LOL! So yeah, I’m running on fumes.
But that’s okay – one more night of kid fun and then I am in full on rest mode for about a week. (Rest meaning not running around – I’ll still work).
So here’s what I have for you today:
#1 – Social Graphics Tutorial and Bundle
Many of you have asked me about the branding that should be done when you combine all of your social media accounts. One thing that’s good to do is to have a uniform look when you create these niche accounts.
There’s a new bundle that has “sets” of graphics – where you get the right size and look for FB, Twitter, YouTube and G+ all rolled into one AND you can customize the design so your stands out.
He has it on a launch sale here:
http://jvzoo.com/c/5810/187855
They included (right on the sales page) an easy tutorial on how to do it in Photoshop (which now has a free 30-day trial and then $9.99 a month fees) – if you want to put your own pictures in and change the text.
The main thing I like about these is that the hardest part (for me anyway) is done – the design, and by design I mean where everything goes, blocks of color, text fonts, etc. I always struggle with that.
So what I would do is sign up for the free trial, use his tutorial, and edit the colors, images and text to be unique. And remember this! Let’s say you see a neat design, but it looks like it’s for the wedding niche. You like the layout, but you’re in the golf niche.
Just change the color (maybe from silver to green), change the text from pretty cursive to more block print, change the images from champagne and flowers to greens and teed up balls.
#2 – Toy Content FAQ
Because it’s the Christmas season, I’m getting tons of questions about toy site setup. Let me answer a few and give you links to some savings right now.
Q: How many product reviews should I put up every day?
A: I put up no more than 5, mainly because it’s all I have time for. I wouldn’t go nutty and do 50 per day.
Q: Should I link to the toys with images or text above the fold?
A: I always do! Above AND below the fold (the fold, for those who don’t know, is the area a visitor sees before they have to start scrolling)
Q: Where can I get more toy content?
A: There are several places right now…
1. Casey Anders’ big toy PLR just released this week here: http://jvzoo.com/c/5810/189121 and as I said before the $47 OTO is amazing – the best unboxing videos for PLR I’ve seen to date.
2. Becky Fairbanks has two $5 packs here: http://jvz5.com/c/5810/174303 and here: http://jvz1.com/c/5810/174527 and this content is great for multiple links (aka: commission opportunities) per blog post.
3. You can go to www.plrminimart.com and grab as much of my toy PLR as you want for 75% off by using the code TOY75 at checkout.
#3 – Teach Me How to Series
There are some “Teach Me How to” requests that are already out there with good answers, so no need for me to redo them.
For example, someone asked me to teach them how to set up their autoresponder. Aweber already has a great knowledge bank with video tutorials and screen shots there. Just go to Help, then Knowledge Base, and you can click “Getting Started” and learn the ropes from step 1.
I see many questions from people wanting EXACT formulas. No vagueness (this was specified). They want do this, do that. Can I tell you something? There isn’t one course on the market that I would follow verbatim. Not one.
Why? Because my preferences are different, my core audience might be different, the way I want to brand myself is different, and so on. You HAVE to let go of the stringent requirements and let yourself work off the cuff a bit.
It’s kind of like dating and having a mile long list of must haves. You might find someone with 2/3 of the specs, but if they’re missing the other 1/3 you refuse to have anything to do with them.
Same with work. Start working with a partial blueprint. Get stuck on something missing or something you dislike? Create a workaround. If the teacher says to flood your site with ads but you don’t like it, don’t DO it! Do it YOUR way.
If they’re missing a step on “how many times to promote in follow up emails,” and you can’t find the answer, then TEST it. If you get a good response doing it 7 times in 7 days, keep it. If people unsubscribe, change it to every other day.
ONLY you are going to be able to create this system. You can’t be identical to someone else. You can adopt some portions of what they do, of course. But if you sit waiting for a step by step that’s exactly what you have in mind, you’re going to be sorely disappointed.
Okay I’m off to eat lunch then gather up my daughter’s zombie biker girl costume. Son’s going as a military guy – he has great respect for them. Both have parties tonight so I suppose I’ll wait with my Mom until I’m called to pick them up again.
Y'all have a happy Halloween and stay safe tonight!
Tiff ;)
