Great Q About Value of Lead Gen - Plus a Fall SEO Cheatsheet for Just Over $3
Published: Sat, 06/15/19
I just finished mowing my neighbor's lawn. They were so delighted and I got a good workout in. Wish they didn't have so many trees (hard to navigate around) but I'm seriously considering putting a "free lawn mowing" sign in my yard. LOL I love this! Addictive.
Also, OMG I leave in THREE WEEKS to New York! WHAT!? I kept thinking 20ish days and was thinking of my Monday-Friday work schedule, and 20/5 = 4. But no. One glance at a calendar and I realized we'll be in NY 3 weeks from today. I am SO freaking nervous! Comfort zone obliterated. I'm just going to immerse myself in hardcore work and fitness and ignore the timing.
Okay here's what I have for you today:
#1 - Fall SEO Cheatsheet
I always love it when Barb Ling comes out with her cheatsheets because they're just over $3 and they contain a lot of good information and links about where the most trending information can be found. This time, she's done it on this topic: Fall SEO Social Authority Informer. It's one of those quickie guides of info that you use to see what details you're missing or lacking knowledge about, and keep on hand for when you need it.

#2 - Great Question About the Value of a Lead Generating or Opt in Offer
Someone sent me a great question. They said: "How does one decide if a piece of content is to be used as a lead-generating freebie or should it be added to a paid product? I've purchased a few products in the past that had similar knowledge that was being offered on someone's list for free. How do you decide if certain content should be offered to your subscribers at no cost, or to add it to a paid product?"
So let's dig in to this question. The first thing you need to do is check the PLR seller's rules. Some sellers require you to sell certain things and not give them away as an opt in.
Secondly, you walk this fine line between wanting to wow the subscriber right off the bat with value - and not giving away everything right up front.
You can do this a few different ways - there's no one right or wrong way. Because PLR is so cheap (usually $1 per page), you can buy a variety and use one for a lead gen offer and one for a paid product.
Here are some options:
- Extract a chapter from a full eBook as a sneak peek they can download and inside, at the end, link to the full paid product.
- Get a relevant short report to use that would accompany the paid product offer nicely. (IE: If your paid product is about meal prep, then get a coupon guide or money savings guide for food as a lead gen offer and title it "Save Money on Meal Prep" or something similar - your paid product would teach them how to meal prep).
- Get something that pairs with it, but isn't the exact same topic. So if your site and product are all about diet, you might have a lead gen offer for 50 fitness tips. It's related - health and weight loss - but it's not exactly like your paid product.
- Bundle up some articles into a report or eBook.
- Use a general broad lead gen and create deeper paid products. IE: A 5 page report on the top 10 free traffic tactics online would be a half page overview per tactic. Then you could create an in depth full course on each traffic item.
Okay I'm off to dye my roots and take an epsom salt bath. I'm at 253 even (from 287.8). Hoping like heck I can make it into the 240s within the last 3 weeks and maybe fit into some smaller clothes. Ack!
Tiff ;)
